Cuttputlli Movie Review: This crime-thriller of Akshay Kumar will keep you hooked, Sargun Mehta is – a little more fun

Cuttputli Movie Review Today in Hindi: Akshay Kumar, Rakulpreet Singh and Sargun Mehta starrer film ‘Katputli’ has been released on Disney Plus Hotstar. Akshay Kumar is seen making a comeback once again after a long time in this crime mystery thriller. Return because this year has proved to be cold for Akshay, who is called ‘hit machine’. But this fourth offering of Akshay will prove to be a good gift for the disappointed fans after his three cool films. Akshay’s dialogue in this film is, ‘The story will end there, neither before nor after.’ This film has also been made in the same style, which has not made any change from the original story in the name of ‘forced creativity’. However, the atmosphere has definitely been prepared keeping in mind the Hindi audience.

This is the story of Kasauli where in the name of crime only petty thefts take place. But suddenly a girl goes missing in this city and after 2 days her dead body is found. Initially, the police think it’s just a case of kidnapping, but then they realize that a serial killer has arrived in the city and work to make them realize that the police force leaves the passion of making a film on the story of a psychopath crime thriller film. Recruited Arjan Sethi (Akshay Kumar). Now to know whether Arjan is able to solve this case using his old knowledge or not, you will have to watch the film.

Before talking about this film, it becomes very important to tell that ‘Kathputli’ is an adaptation of South’s film ‘Ratanson’. This is necessary because ‘Ratanson’ has been a tremendous hit film and it has its own fanbase. In such a situation, if ‘Puppet’ looses even a bit, then the audience will immediately declare it ‘fail’. But this film of ‘Pooja Entertainment’ has tried its best to preserve its essence as a crime thriller. The comparison of the film is bound to happen but this film of Akshay Kumar is fully capable of keeping you on your seats. With a fun combination of content and style, the film starts off in a light-hearted way in the beginning, but gradually the story picks up its pace. Akshay Kumar could not impress the audience much with his three released films this year and ‘Puppet’ is his new effort which will definitely be liked by the audience. This film is an adaptation of ‘Ratanson’ but the director has tried to change the climax to some extent.

Talking about acting, Akshay Kumar impresses with his style. Whereas Rakul Preet Singh has been seen doing value addition in the film. The chemistry of both has been fun. But if someone impresses you even after having fewer scenes, then it is Sargun Mehta. That is the famous line of an advertisement, ‘Thode Mein Zyada Ka Maja’, Sargun has done the same thing in this film. Whatever scene Sargun has been on the screen, she has been tremendous. Chandrachud Singh has also appeared on the screen after a long time, so he has been good. But I am quite disappointed with the way comedian-actor Guggi has been ‘wasted’ in this film.

Screenplay is good and engaging too. Right from the beginning of this film of director Ranjit M Tiwari, you keep on connecting with the story. Akshay Kumar is working with Ranjit for the second time. Earlier both had worked together in the film ‘Bellbottom’. Akshay’s on-screen presence has been very cold this year but ‘Kathputli’ will make his disappointed fans very happy. Whereas Sargum Mehta’s funny performance makes this film a must watch film. 4 stars to this film from my side. (Half the star for Sargun Mehta’s slightly impactful role).
