Kolkata Doctor Rape Murder Case: The West Bengal government will hold an administrative review meeting at the state secretariat on Monday (9 September 2024) under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in which projects in rural areas and citizen-centric services will be discussed. Meanwhile, Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose ordered CM Mamata to call an emergency cabinet meeting and discuss the issue of medical college by doing RG.
The governor said that he would remove the police commissioner
According to sources, West Bengal Governor CV Bose said that if needed, the Police Commissioner should be removed because many complaints are coming against him. Two days ago, the state’s Chief Secretary Manoj Pant had come after meeting Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose.
The Governor said that the state government should decide on the people’s demand to replace Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal. Expressing concern, Governor CV Bose said that the Bengal government cannot escape responsibility and cannot remain silent on the worrying incidents happening in the state. He said that the West Bengal government should work under the Constitution and the rule of law.
The governor had expressed displeasure over the Mamta government
West Bengal Governor C V Anand Bose has proposed to the President on Friday (September 6, 2024) to consider the anti-rape bill passed by the state assembly. Draupadi Murmu Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose had expressed displeasure with the Mamata government over the bill because the state government had not sent the technical report related to the bill to the governor.
People are protesting daily in many parts of West Bengal regarding the rape and murder case in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. After this incident, Mamata Banerjee’s government brought the Aparajita Women and Child (West Bengal Criminal Law Amendment) Bill 2024, on which politics is at its peak.
