Cyber Fraud: Be careful of such messages on the occasion of Rakshabandhan! The festival may get spoiled

Only a few days are left for Rakshabandhan. Markets have also been decorated for this special festival of brothers and sisters. Brothers who are away from their sisters due to work, send them Rakhi gifts through parcels. But cyber thugs have their eyes on this special festival as well. They will make you their victim due to a mistake and you will not even know. Cyber thugs have become active once again in view of Rakshabandhan. This time they are cheating people through India Post. Let’s know how they are making people their victims.

Making people victims by sending them messages

Many brothers send gifts to their sisters on Rakshabandhan. Cyber criminals are now taking advantage of this. People get messages in the name of India Post which says that a parcel has arrived for them but there is a problem in delivering the parcel because the address is incomplete and not written properly. A link is also given in the message. People are told that they can update their complete address by clicking on that link.

This is how the scam is happening

People have to update their address by going to that link. As soon as you click on the link, either your phone is hacked or you are asked to pay a small amount in the name of redelivery. This amount is 25-50 rupees. Due to the small amount, people make the payment by entering their debit card or credit card details, due to this mistake, people’s debit card or credit card details reach the scammers.

How to avoid such scams-

-Be careful of unknown messages and emails, if you are getting such messages then get complete information about it before taking any step.

-The most important thing is not to click on any unknown link. This increases the chances of you being cheated. Always visit the official website for more information.

-Always keep in mind that if someone is asking you for your personal information or payment, then first contact the customer support of the company or organization and get information about this from them. You can call the customer support service of India Post or other courier companies to check the story created by hackers.

– In case of cyber fraud, immediately lodge a complaint on number 1930. Complaint can also be lodged on cyber crime portal cybercrime.gov.in.
