Uttar Pradesh Police has appealed to the people to book hotels only through registered websites. Along with this, people have been warned about cyber scams. UP Police said on X, ‘Take a dip of faith in Mahakumbh, but do not fall into the trap of cyber scam! Make booking only through registered website, otherwise cyber thugs can make your whereabouts disappear. Along with this, UP Police has also shared the list of registered websites, where you can book the hotel directly by calling.

How is this fraud happening?
Many such cases have come to light in which cyber thugs are cheating people in the name of hotel booking. Many fake sites have also been prepared for this, where as soon as you click, your account details fall into the hands of cyber scammers and within no time your entire account can become empty. Apart from this, many times people get hotel booking by extracting numbers from online sites, but these numbers belong to scammers, where in the name of hotel booking you are asked to make payment, people also get tricked into making the payment. However, later it is revealed that their hotel has not been booked. Such cases have come to light in Noida and Gurugram.
What to do to avoid cyber fraud
- Always use registered websites only.
- Before searching for a hotel online, check whether the website is correct or not.
- Many websites are created fake, so please check their spelling.
- Try to make payment only after reaching the hotel.
- Be careful while getting hotel numbers online, these numbers may belong to scammers.
