Daam Malware: Indian National Cyber ​​Security Agency CERT-IN has issued an advisory against Android malware which the agency has identified as Daam. CERT-IN told that this malware is stealing the confidential data etc. of the people by bypassing the security check of the smartphone. Also installing ransomware in Android phones. The agency said that this malware is being delivered to people’s devices through third party websites and Apk apps.

Once this malware enters the Android smartphone, it easily bypasses the security checks present in the phone and steals sensitive data and phone permissions by which it reads mobile history, bookmarks, call logs. CERT-IN has also shared some tips to avoid this malware. The agency asked Android users to always download apps from trusted sources and avoid third party apps. Also, before downloading any app, do read its reviews, comments etc. so that you can get prior information about the app. Apart from this, give permission to the apps according to the need and do not give access to untrusted websites or sources.

CERT-IN also told that before clicking on any website or link, check its domain name, if the domain name is missing, do not click on such link or message. The agency has asked users to be careful with short URLs like bit.ly and Tinyurl as there is a high risk of malware in these websites.
