Daily Workers Staged A Strike After Losing Their Jobs After Expansion – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

Daily wage workers from Madan Mohan Malviya Teachers Training Centre, run by AMU, started a sit-in protest in front of the Registrar’s office on August 3 after being fired and their salaries were stopped. The fired workers had been working for the last 13 years. They have also been given a one-year extension. The sit-in protest of these workers started at 10 am.

The employees who were fired and made irregular from the UGC-run Madan Mohan Malaviya Teachers Training Center (MMMTTC) in the university have started an indefinite strike for their demands. Employee Afaq Ahmed told that Mohammad Muin, Nazreen Afsar, Tariq Ali working in this center have been fired from the job in June. Rashid Ali, Mohammad Khalid, Musarrat Ali, Mohammad Rashid, Mohammad Azam, Ishhar Ahmed, Mohammad Shakir, Salim Ahmed Siraj, Wasim Ali, Rinku Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Syed Muzammil Ali have been made irregular from July. While all the employees were given a service extension of one year.

Afaq Ahmed said that there is an amount of Rs 83 lakh in the centre’s account. Despite this, the employees are being harassed. The letter ordering the removal of employees and withholding their salary has been issued by the centre’s director herself. The protest will continue until the demands are met. In this regard, the centre’s director Dr. Faiza Abbasi said that the correspondence done in this matter remains as it is.

Teachers are trained in Madan Mohan Malaviya Teachers Training Center

The Madan Mohan Malaviya Teachers Training Centre (MMMTTC) run in AMU trains teachers of universities and colleges in teaching methods. Refresher courses are also conducted here. The University Grants Commission started the Academic Staff Training Centre in AMU in 1987, which was later renamed as Human Resource Development Centre. A few years later, the Commission changed its name to Madan Mohan Malaviya Teachers Training Centre.
