A tragic incident took place in Biraul Panchayat of Biraul police station area of Darbhanga district, in which a female laborer died after getting stuck in a mixer machine. The incident happened when the roof casting work of a 100-bed hostel was going on. The deceased woman has been identified as Rasida Khatun (32), who was a resident of Gauda village of Kusheshwarsthan police station area.
According to the information, Rasida Khatoon was engaged in the construction work of the hostel for the last five months. She was carrying ballast in a cart and putting it in the tub of the mixer machine. During this time, her dupatta got stuck in the machine, due to which her head got stuck in the tub of the mixture. Although other workers immediately tried to stop the machine, Rasida had died by then. After the accident, the woman’s head remained stuck in the machine for a long time, due to which there was a stir in the entire area.
It is being told that the deceased woman has left behind three sons and a daughter. The financial condition of the family was already bad and her husband had returned home from work only one and a half months ago. The woman’s brother-in-law Mohammad Anwar has demanded compensation for the victim’s family, citing the negligence of the contractor as the reason for the accident. He has also demanded legal action against the contractor.
On receiving information about the incident, the police team reached the spot. Then, under the leadership of Sub Inspector Ranjit Prasad, the body of the woman was taken out from the machine. The body has been sent to DMCH for postmortem and the police have started investigating the case. This accident has created a sensation in the area and has raised concerns about the lack of safety among the workers.
