Due to non-payment of Rs 20 lakh in dowry, the accused, resident of Dehligate area, beat up a married woman and threw her out of her house. In this case, the woman has filed a case against five people including her husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law.
Naushaba, resident of Mohalla Charkhawalan of police station Dehligate, told that on November 16, 2022, her family members had married Farman alias Raja, resident of Hari Masjid, ahead of Hari Masjid, Khair Road, police station Rorawar, by giving dowry. It is alleged that the in-laws were not satisfied with the donations and dowry received during the marriage. They started harassing her demanding additional dowry of Rs 20 lakh. The husband used to threaten to divorce her if she did not bring additional dowry. Meanwhile she gave birth to a son.
On October 19, 2024, he was beaten and thrown out of the house. When father Tahir and mother Mumtaz came to convince their in-laws, the accused beat them up too. Police station in-charge Delhigate said that husband Farman alias Raja, father-in-law Jumman, mother-in-law Nagina, brother-in-law Imran, sister-in-law Jannat have been named in the case.
