DDA is certainly going to launch a new housing scheme of about 40,000 flats in three categories, but most of these flats are those which were included in the previous housing schemes. Due to strict rules and regulations, DDA could not sell these in the previous schemes. DDA has now changed the rules. The authority plans to give flats on first come first serve basis. Meanwhile, other basic facilities including roads have also improved in these areas. Due to this, DDA hopes to sell all the flats in this scheme.

40 thousand flats have been included in DDA’s new housing scheme. Out of this, about 34,000 flats are in the Sasta Ghar Awasiya Yojana. Their allotment will be on first come, first serve basis. Most of the flats included in this scheme are old. Many of these flats have been part of the six housing schemes released from 2014 to last year. People did not show interest in buying most of the flats built in Narela, Loknayakpuram, Sirsapur and other areas. The main reason for this was their distance from main Delhi.

Along with this, the development of basic facilities was also not done properly. At the same time, rules and regulations created hurdles. The biggest problem in this was faced by those who had houses in Delhi. According to the rules, they could not become a part of housing schemes even if they wanted to. Hence, about 50 percent of DDA flats could not be sold. Some new flats have also been included in DDA’s new scheme. These flats have been built in Dwarka.

In the new scheme, DDA has also made provision for discounts to attract people to buy flats. Apart from this, it will also allot flats to those people who already have a house in Delhi. Therefore, DDA expects more than 50 percent flats to be sold under this scheme. Actually, DDA’s flats built in remote areas like Narela, Loknayakpuram, Sirsapur etc. are not being sold. It has a large number of flats at these places only. These flats have been closed for years and their condition has also deteriorated. However, DDA has repaired those flats, due to which people had shown interest in buying some flats at these places under last year’s scheme.

Flats built in Dwarka many years ago have been renovated and made habitable

DDA has built some new flats in Dwarka. These have been included in this scheme. Old flats have been made habitable by repairing them. They have been repaired from outside and inside. Other basic facilities including roads, parks have improved in the campus. Due to this, DDA is hopeful that the flats will be sold this time. By making similar changes, all the flats in Sector-19B of Dwarka were sold in the previous scheme. Now the process of giving possession of them has been started.
