The dead body of a youth was found lying on the side of the highway in Agra, Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning. When people saw, they informed the police. When the news was received, there was an outcry in the house. Crying family members also reached the spot. He talked about killing out of rivalry. Due to police not arriving till about three hours after receiving the information, angry people blocked the highway.
The incident took place on Agra-Etawah State Highway of Bah police station area. The body of Sunil Kumar (28), son of Ram Prakash, resident of Bhaupura village of the same police station area, was found lying on the side of the highway. When people passing by saw it at around 6 in the morning, they informed the people nearby. When the news spread, a crowd of people gathered at the spot.
State highway jammed
On receiving information, family members and village people reached there. The family members said that they committed the murder out of rivalry. The police did not arrive for three hours after giving the news. This sparked anger among the people. They blocked the state highway. Due to this, several kilometers long queues of vehicles formed on both sides.
When news of jam on the state highway was received, the police arrived. Seeing that the matter was not under control, forces from several police stations had to be called. After about two hours of jam, people accepted the assurance of action. After this the police got the vehicles removed. Then the traffic became smooth.
murder due to enmity
The family told that Sunil was married. Has wife Rakhi and two sons, a daughter. The wife became unconscious after seeing the dead body. He told that an incident of assault had taken place a few years ago. The son has been murdered due to the same rivalry. Inspector in-charge Shyam Singh said that a case will be registered after receiving the complaint. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
