In a conversation with News 18 Local, Deepika Doval told that during the lockdown, she saw that her children were not liking to eat simple food at home, and then during that time she started feeding them by making new dishes using Maduve and mountain grains. .

This food was liked by the children and other people also started liking it, after which the idea came in his mind that he should start such a thing that the grains of the mountain should be promoted in the cities as well and along with this the farmers of the mountain People can get benefit from this and the people of the city can also feel connected with our mountain culture.

‘Beneficial in kidney stones’
Deepika started her own startup named Budh Dadi and started taking mountain cuisine to people in new flavours. Deepika says that it is seen in the people of Dehradun that they have a lot of stone problem and Gahat dal is very beneficial in that.

That’s why we made deep stuffing in dhindke and started serving it with ghee. In olden times, old grandmothers i.e. elderly women used to make dhindka in the form of a kernel in a simple way and it was eaten with ghee. Deepika believes that in today’s time, if children are fed it, they will not eat it, that is why she added Used Ghat to bring some innovation.

Similarly, they are serving Badalpur’s Biranji, Sidku, Askali, Baranaja Khaja etc. Uttarakhand’s folk singer Pritam Bharatwan also tasted old grandmother’s recipes and said that great people like Teelu Rauteli and Madhav Singh Bhandari used to consume these mountain grains and they performed well in their field.
