A case of cheating more than 1000 people across the country in the name of packers and movers transportation has come to light. The tenth pass accused had recently cheated a software engineer of Rs 7.12 lakh. After this, on the complaint of the engineer, the cyber station police arrested the accused Lalit Sharma (24), who was living on rent in a posh colony of Pune. Originally Lalit, a resident of Village Dhanger, Police Station Jui, District Bhiwani, was cheating people by opening an office on rent in Hyderabad.

South District Deputy Commissioner of Police Chandan Chowdhary said that the cyber police station in-charge Arun Kumar Verma received the complaint through the portal. Software engineer Jitendra told that he works in a multinational company in Bangalore. He had to deliver his goods in Delhi. For this reason started searching online for packers and movers services. He got a call from Gati Packers and Movers. The engineer booked a Kwid Renault car and some household items for transportation.

Two thousand rupees were deposited in advance and it was decided to pay 13 thousand rupees later. Later the accused made a WhatsApp call and cheated Rs 7,12,000 in the name of state border custom duty, GST fee, insurance fee, state RTO clearance. After registering the case, the team of Havildar Tarun and Havildar Dharmendra Kumar started the investigation under the supervision of SI Sanjay Singh. Technical analysis of call detail records (CDR) and money trail revealed that the accused was earlier in Hyderabad and is now in Pune.

It was found that the accused was using mobile numbers taken from fake IDs. The details of the bank accounts of the accused were also searched. After this, SI Sanjay Singh’s team arrested Lalit Sharma by raiding Pune on 28th June. The accused was living with his wife in rented flat No. 902, Block-C, Central Park Residency, Mausi, Pipri Chindhwad, posh colony of Pune. The accused was paying a rent of Rs 25,000.
