Delhi AIIMS is working on AI technology for early detection of breast cancer. With the help of which tests like mammogram are being done easily. Help of Asha workers will be taken for detection of breast cancer. These workers look after the work of vaccination in villages and towns. She will go to these areas and talk to women about breast cancer and its symptoms. After this, data of these women will be collected and information will be given to AIIMS. On this basis, breast cancer will be screened with the help of AI.

How will AI work in detecting breast cancer?

Dr. Kritika, Associate Professor of Radiology Department at Delhi AIIMS, said that AI will help in two ways in examining the data coming from Asha workers. First, based on the data pool and symptoms, it will be identified which women need mammogram and which do not. Secondly, by having mammogram with the help of AI, even the smallest symptoms of cancer can be identified.

How effective is the new technology of Delhi AIIMS?

This AI model will scan the 5-year database in Delhi AIIMS, NCI Jhajjar and PGI Chandigarh to identify breast cancer in women, so that it can be treated on time. Currently work is going on, if it is successful then the country will benefit from it on a large scale and it will help in preventing breast cancer.
