Delhi International Airport has become the first airport in the country to connect 150 destinations. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the company operating Delhi Airport, said that on Sunday, Thai Air Asia X started direct flights between Delhi and Bangkok-Don Mueang (DMK). This is the 150th destination to be connected to Delhi airport. Airbus A330 aircraft will be operated twice a week on the new route. The airline also plans to increase the frequency from two to four times by mid-January 2025.

A DIAL official said that in the last few years, more than 20 international destinations have been connected to Delhi Airport. These include Phnom Penh, Bali Denpasar, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, Washington, Dulles, Chicago O’Hare and Tokyo Haneda. 88 per cent of all long-haul destinations from India are connected to Delhi and 56 per cent of all long-haul weekly flights from India operate from Delhi Airport. Nearly 50 per cent of long-haul travelers from India choose Delhi airport. The airport handles approximately 1,400 flights daily.
