Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel has accused the Delhi government’s finance department of curtailing powers. He said in the House that even after 30 years of formation of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat is dependent on the Finance Department for its expenditure.

They have a power committee and now the Finance Department has announced that the Law Secretary will be the Administrative Secretary and HOD of the Delhi Legislative Assembly while the Law Department has clarified that the Law Department is not and cannot be the administrative department of the Legislative Assembly. He said that despite the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha informing the Chief Secretary about the recommendation of the All India Presiding Officers’ Conference to provide financial autonomy to the Delhi Legislative Assembly, the Finance Department is curtailing the powers. He has asked the Finance Minister of Delhi to consider the issue.

Clash between Minister-BJP MLA

During the discussion on the budget in the House, there was a heated argument between BJP MLA Abhay Verma and Minister Kailash Gehlot. The matter escalated so much that the Speaker marshaled the BJP MLA out. In the discussion, the BJP MLA alleged in the matter of new excise policy that due to this the Delhi government has suffered a loss of crores of rupees. Apart from this, even after increasing the budget two and a half times, the development fund of the MLAs did not increase. The new excise policy caused a loss of about 32%. Giving his answer in this discussion, Minister Kailash Gehlot said that the BJP MLA has misrepresented the facts in the excise matter. He said that the BJP only knows how to criticize the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal government. The Delhi government has presented a grand budget.

Apologize Prime Minister Modi: Jarnail Singh

AAP MLA Jarnail Singh raised the issue in the House that the word Sikh terrorist is mentioned on the portal linked to the Prime Minister. Said it was a serious issue. He should apologize for this issue. There was a lot of uproar in the House as soon as this issue was raised. BJP MLAs talked about apologizing to MLA Jarnail Singh. After a long uproar, Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal said that if this issue is wrong then action can be taken against the AAP MLA. The BJP MLA should present evidence to prove the allegation made by the AAP MLA false.

Not getting coaching: Rajendra

Former minister Rajendra Pal Gautam said that due to the officials, SC, ST, OBC students are not getting coaching facilities under Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana. By taking advantage of this scheme of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, poor children are getting training for other institutions including IIT, but it has been stopped.
