Delhi Election 2025: Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress have intensified preparations for the assembly elections in Delhi. Before the elections, New Delhi Assembly seat has become high profile. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress has fielded Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Pravesh Verma, son of former Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, can also be the BJP candidate from New Delhi Assembly seat.
In such a situation, there are chances of a triangular contest on the New Delhi Assembly seat. Congress candidate from New Delhi seat Sandeep Dixit spoke exclusively to ABP News. He candidly answered many questions including the possibility of alliance with Aam Aadmi Party.
Are you interested in becoming the face of the Chief Minister?
Sandeep Dixit: I have no such ambition.
Is New Delhi seat not an anti-incumbency wave?
Sandeep Dixit: Arvind Kejriwal got stuck by becoming a candidate from this seat. There was confirmed news that Arvind Kejriwal was going to step down from this seat. These people have lost the elections morally, that is why they changed the seats of big leaders. Anti-incumbency will not end until Kejriwal’s face changes.
Three main tasks that Congress is promising in the elections?

Reconciling with the Government of India
What are the disadvantages of free plans?
Sandeep Dixit: Delhi government can never incur losses but still how did DTC and Jal Board suffer a loss of Rs 70 thousand crores? He removed DTC and Water Board from the budget. Therefore, the impact of these two institutions was not visible in the loss budget. They show to the public that there are no losses but both the institutions are in losses. My aim will be to remove the Aam Aadmi Party government. Arvind Kejriwal will also no longer be an MLA.
Is there still a possibility of alliance with Aam Aadmi Party?
Sandeep Dixit: There will be no alliance at all. Aam Aadmi Party is spreading rumors regarding alliance. This is his old style. AAP is not going to form the government after the elections. Congress’s performance will be better than AAP.
If government is formed then not without Congress? What does this mean?
Sandeep Dixit: I said this because either Congress will form the government on its own or we will get support from someone or the other. We will get so many seats that independent candidates will support us to prove majority. We don’t have ego. Our graph is growing rapidly. It is difficult to say whether the graph reaches above 35 or 33. We do not have any MLA. At present we were party number three. Now this will change. People have started dreaming of Congress government in Delhi. Congress had given a golden period in Delhi.
Will Congress continue the free schemes?
Sandeep Dixit: Whenever Congress comes to government, it continues the good work of the previous government. Aam Aadmi Party’s free scheme will continue, We will provide free electricity up to 400 units.
Will the facility of Rs 2100 and free bus service continue to be available for women?
Sandeep Dixit: This is Congress’s plan only. Congress first implemented it in Himachal. Congress also started the scheme in Telangana and Karnataka. You had made such promises in Punjab also. Not implemented in Punjab. Before the elections, you know that you cannot implement the plan, that is why you are bringing it.” Congress’s thinking is that nothing should be 100 percent free because such people do not give value. Kejriwal has free money to give to Delhi. There is nothing else, Congress will be able to provide development and also such facilities.
