Virendra Sachdeva: BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has targeted the Delhi government regarding the preparations for Chhath Puja in Delhi. He alleged that the Delhi government has failed in the preparations for Chhath Puja. He said that the water of Yamuna is not clean, due to which there is difficulty in worshiping. This came to light in the Delhi High Court during the hearing of a petition regarding allowing Chhath Mahotsav to be held on the banks of Yamuna.
More than 600 temporary ghats of Delhi are not ready: BJP
Sachdeva said that Delhi government’s claims of providing clean water in Yamuna for Chhath have been exposed. The situation is bad at almost all the 1060 temporary ghats of Delhi as well as the ghats on the banks of Yamuna. On the second day of Chhath Puja, which started from Nahay Khay, mothers and sisters worshiped Kharna. He alleged that puja pandal tent infrastructure is not ready in more than 600 out of 1060 temporary ghats in Delhi.
He alleged that after talking to many tent contractors, it was revealed that they are under pressure from the local AAP MLAs for commission due to which they are unable to complete the work. The situation in almost all the 1060 temporary ghats of Delhi as well as on the ghats on the banks of Yamuna is so bad that the tent contractors are not ready to give even half of the approved tent items like barricades, tables, tents and chairs to the committees, due to which the committee members at many places are A situation of dispute arose with the contractors.
Delhi BJP President said that there are hundreds of Purvanchal dominated colonies and streets in Delhi, but Delhi Municipal Corporation did not make complete arrangements for cleanliness there. He said that Chhath Mahotsav has been organized at the government level in Delhi for almost two decades, but such chaos as this year has never been seen before. It would not be an exaggeration to say that due to the corruption and inaction of the Delhi government, Delhi is not ready to welcome Chhath Mata.
