In MCD’s Swami Dayanand Hospital located in Shahdara, staff and guards demand bribe from patients and their relatives. This was revealed on Thursday when the mayor reached the hospital. During this, the patients and their relatives informed the mayor about the whole episode. Apart from this, the mayor decided to take strict action against the employees who demand bribe from the patients and their relatives.

Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi inspected the Swami Dayanand Hospital at Shahdara on Thursday. During this, the patients and their relatives told them that the staff and guards of the hospital demand bribe from them. Annoyed by this, the Mayor instructed that if someone asks for money unreasonably, then complain to the Medical Superintendent or us.

On receipt of such complaint, action will be taken with immediate effect. He said that people had accused a doctor of corruption in the past. A report has been sought from MS about them. Strict action will be taken after receiving the report. On this occasion, the Mayor reviewed the arrangements in Gynaecology, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Delivery Room, OT, General OPD. At the same time, he talked in detail about the resources, machines, medicines and oxygen supply and cleanliness available in the hospital. He instructed to start CT scan and dialysis system in the hospital soon.

AIIMS will provide better facilities to patients in collaboration with WHO

AIIMS will strengthen patient safety in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Health Organization South-East Asia (SEARO). Along with this, by eliminating the mistakes that happen during the treatment, it will completely prevent the death and seriousness due to them. Taking steps in this direction, AIIMS has formed a six member committee. Actually, due to negligence, mistake and lack of information during the treatment, the condition of the patient becomes serious. Many of these patients even die. WHO has started efforts towards eliminating it completely. Under this effort, AIIMS Director M Srinivas has issued an order. Under this, death due to negligence, mistake or lack of information can be prevented. For this, there is a need to improve health facilities. WHO is training with the doctors of AIIMS regarding this.
