Preparations are on to open the Chirag Delhi flyover from April 1 to make South Delhi jam-free. Repairs have been delayed due to rain, but the number of machines will be increased to speed up the construction work.

On Saturday, on the instructions of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Public Works Department Minister Atishi inspected the flyover. During this, department and police officers were also with him. During the inspection, the minister found that the repair work was running two days behind schedule due to rain.

On this, Atishi instructed the officials that by April 1, the first part of the flyover should be opened for traffic. Also, he asked to increase the number of workers and machines during the repair of the second part of the flyover, so that the work is completed in time and people do not face any problem.

The work on the first part of the flyover will be completed by March 31 and it will be opened for traffic. On the suggestion of the Chief Minister, during the repair of the second part of the flyover, one of the two lanes will be kept open for traffic, so that traffic can move along with the work and people are not inconvenienced. The repair work was supposed to take 50 days to complete, but working at double the speed, would be completed within a month.

Chief Minister is monitoring

Atishi said that the Chief Minister himself is monitoring the repair work of Chirag Delhi flyover. Our priority is to get the people of Delhi free from jams. The department is working fast in this direction, so that the work can be completed in time and people can get relief from traffic. Atishi instructed the officials of PWD and Delhi Police to prepare an action plan for better traffic management to ease the traffic.
