Bulgarian citizen Ruslan Petrov Metodiev was printing fake currency indiscriminately by setting up a unit in Palam Vihar, Gurgaon. The accused has spent fake notes worth more than Rs 70 lakh in Delhi and Gurugram in a year.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police has busted the international gang involved in printing and supplying fake notes and arrested Bulgarian national Ruslan Petrov Metodiev. Fake notes worth eight lakh have been recovered from his possession.
Special Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, HGS Dhaliwal said that the accused used to supply fake notes in Delhi and Gurugram only. The accomplice of the accused is a citizen of Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan citizen used to tell the Bulgarian citizen that he had to supply fake notes to someone in Delhi and Gurugram.
This Sri Lankan citizen is using Dubai mobile number. The Special Commissioner of Police said that Inspector Vivekanand Pathak and Inspector Kuldeep had received information about this international syndicate printing fake notes. After several days of investigation, Inspector Vivekanand Pathak came to know that fake notes were being printed in Palam Vihar, Gurugram with the connivance of people of this gang sitting in many countries.
Inspector Vivekanand Pathak had received information on June 21 that a foreign national printing fake notes would come to Ganda Nala Road on Najafgarh-Kapashera Road. Under the supervision of ACP Vedprakash, Inspector Vivekanand Pathak and Inspector Kuldeep Singh laid siege here and caught Bulgarian citizen Ruslan Petrov Metodiev.
Has done job in Bulgarian army…
Ruslan Petrov is a permanent resident of Metodiev Sofia (Bulgaria). After his schooling in Bulgaria, he joined the Bulgarian army in 1996 and served there for 6 years. Visited Goa in India to explore business opportunity in 2018. In 2019, Ruslan again came to India and started the business of donuts, but the business did not go well. After this he got involved in the racket of forgery.
Learned to print fake notes on YouTube
The accused, Ruslan Petrov Metodiev, during interrogation revealed that he was a part of a big international racket of printing fake notes. He came to India for the first time in 2018. After this came to India again in 2019. Here the Tughlaq Road police station arrested him in the case of forgery. Released on bail in January 2021. During his stay in jail, he came in contact with criminals involved in printing and smuggling fake notes. After this, started printing fake notes. The accused had learned the technique of printing fake notes on YouTube.

Fake notes worth eight lakh in 500 notes, material/equipment used for printing fake notes i.e. 1 lamination machine, 3 paper scaling and cutter machines, paper allegedly used for printing fake notes 1 loose bundle of K, 35 tracing papers with Mahatma Gandhi photo printed on 500, 30 semi-finished/unfinished paper sheets, 4 wooden frames with numeral 500 marks, one metal clamping tool, 2 bottles of spray adhesive, one box Glitter powder, 2 green foil papers, 8 bottles of ink, Rs 1,89,000, 2 laptops, 2 printers have been recovered from a house in Haryana’s Gurugram. A mobile handset and SIM card used in fake note circulation activities have also been seized.
