But as soon as the luggage of Delhi’s newly appointed CM Atishi Marlena reached this residence. PWD sealed this house. Why is this controversy happening regarding CM residence? Who allots houses to politicians and VVIPs in India? Let us tell you.

Why the controversy regarding Delhi CM residence?

When a leader is given a government residence because of his position. So as soon as that leader leaves that post. That house is taken back from him. And that house is allotted to the new person coming to that post. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal resigned. After this he was asked to vacate the CM residence. And the new CM Atishi Marlena made preparations to shift to the new house. But before IC Mar Lena shifted to the CM residence. PWD sealed CM’s residence.

PWD says that this house has not been handed over to them yet by Arvind Kejriwal. The department will make inventory after the house is handed over to PWD by Arvind Kejriwal. And only after that the house will be allotted to someone again. Because the process of handing over the house has not been completed, then in such a situation Atishi Marlena cannot shift into her house right now. Once PWD gets the handover, the house will be surveyed, inventory will be made and only after that the house will be re-allotted.

Estate Directorate allots houses to politicians

GPRA i.e. General Pool Residential Accommodation is a scheme of the Central Government, under which the Central Government provides accommodation to the employees. Its entire responsibility rests with the Estate Directorate. The responsibility of allotting houses to politicians also lies with the Estate Directorate. In this, the responsibility lies with DOE i.e. Director of Estate and the Residential Committee of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the process of providing houses to Union Ministers and MPs. It has bungalows of different categories. Which range from Type I to Type VIII.
