Patients coming for treatment at Safdarjung Hospital in the capital Delhi will be able to get themselves screened for cancer. For the convenience of the patients, a screening counter has been opened in the OPD premises of the hospital. Other necessary tests can also be done here. About 10,000 patients from across the country visit the OPD of Safdarjung every day. On the occasion of World Cancer Day, a cancer awareness program was organized at Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday. On this occasion, patients who won the battle with cancer shared their experiences. Also, told other patients who came in the program that if cancer is detected in you then there is no need to be afraid. Its treatment is possible, if you keep yourself strong and get treated, you can get well soon.

Medical Superintendent Dr. BL Sherwal said that an awareness campaign will run till February 8 for cancer awareness in the hospital. Facilities are being expanded in the hospital for cancer patients. We are hoping that a large-scale vaccination drive will be started to prevent cervical cancer in women.

Dr. Kaushal Kalra, Nodal Officer of Medical Oncology at the hospital said that a counter is being opened for screening of patients coming to Safdarjung. Screening for other cancers including breast cancer is being done here. If a patient feels that they may have cancer, they can get tested here. Here, during the screening, BP, sugar and other general and necessary tests will also be done. Apart from this, in the campaign which will continue till February 8, patients will be given information about cancer prevention every morning. Students and staff of the Medical College will tell about cancer prevention by performing a street play. Apart from this, a walk will also be organized to prevent cancer.

Day Care Services for CGHS Patients

Dr. Kaushal informed that day care facility has been started in the hospital for CGHS patients. Patients will be able to get the facility of chemotherapy by getting admitted here.


Coarse grain canteen will open in AIIMS

A coarse grain canteen will be started in Delhi AIIMS to provide nutritious food rich in fibre. AIIMS Director Dr. M Srinivas has issued an order regarding this. In the order, the director said that it has been decided to start a 24×7 canteen in AIIMS. From March 1, this canteen will run in the Central Cafeteria. In this, food products of millet will be given to eat. Explain that it is beneficial to take coarse cereals in the morning breakfast for nutritious food containing fiber.
