A student was stabbed to death in front of Aryabhatta College on the South Campus of Delhi University (DU) on Sunday afternoon. Nikhil Chauhan (19), a first-year student of Political Science at the School of Open Learning, was walking out of the college gate at 12:30 pm on Sunday. Meanwhile, the accused reached with three companions. One of them stabbed him in the chest. Nikhil ran to save his life, but fell down. Friends took Nikhil to the hospital, where he died. Friends told the South Campus police that a college student had misbehaved with Nikhil’s girlfriend. He had a fight about it. The police have arrested two accused in this case. Rahul (19) and Haroon (19).
Father spoke of murder in enmity
Father Sanjay Chauhan has described the incident of Nikhal’s murder in front of Aryabhatta College of South Campus as enmity. They have denied that Nikhil had a girlfriend and that there was a fight when she objected to the ill-treatment. He told that a week ago the accused student had a fight with Nikhil’s friend. To avenge this, the accused along with his friends have carried out the incident. Nikhil used to make videos of songs on YouTube. He also used to act in it.
Young man stabbed to death for refusing to abuse
In another incident, a neighboring youth, along with his father and brother, seriously injured the young man by stabbing him with a knife for refusing to abuse him in Rajpark area on Saturday night. He was admitted to a nearby hospital by his family members in an injured condition. Where the young man died in the early hours of Sunday.
The police have registered a case of murder and arrested the brother and father of the accused. Raids are being conducted at possible places in search of the absconding main accused. The deceased has been identified as Sahil (21). He lived with his family in O Block slum number four. Police officials said that at 2.50 am, the police received information about a youth being stabbed near the bus stand of S Block Mangolpuri.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot, by then the aunt of the injured youth had taken him to the hospital. The youth was not in a position to give a statement. Police registered a case of attempt to murder and started investigation. While inspecting the spot, an eyewitness told the police that the injured Sahil was attacked with a knife by his neighbor Malli. During this, his brother Binder and his father held Sahil. He told that Binder was abusing a passerby. On this, Sahil forbade him from abusing her.
A fight started between Sahil and Binder on this matter. Meanwhile, Binder’s father Pramod reached there. Pramod called his son Malli there saying that there had been a quarrel. Malli brought a knife from home and after reaching there attacked Sahil with a knife. During this, Binder and Pramod caught Sahil. On getting information about Sahil’s injuries, his family members reached there and admitted him to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. Where Sahil died at 6.30 am. Police registered a case of murder and arrested the accused Pramod and his son Binder. Police is raiding to arrest Malli.
