To provide better health facilities to the people, Delhi government is starting various new courses in medical colleges. These courses will create a large pool of skilled youth for nurses, pathologists, paramedics, physiotherapists and other allied services. The institutes offer one year Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing, B.Sc Nursing Programme, Master of Physiotherapy (Sports), B.Sc in Medical Technology-Radiotherapy, B.Sc in Medical Laboratories, Bachelor of Physiotherapy among others.
Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia informed about these new courses approved recently that one year Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center, B.Sc Nursing at Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) Programs, Master of Physiotherapy (Sports) at Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Physiotherapy, Medical Technology at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center, BSc in Radiotherapy, BSc in Medical Laboratory at Hindu Rao Hospital and Bachelor of Physiotherapy Program at Deendayal Upadhyaya Institute of Physical Disabilities Are included.
Corona epidemic taught
Sisodia said that Corona made us think that in Delhi we need a large number of professionals including doctors as well as trained paramedics, nurses, physiotherapists, pathologists and others to deal with emergencies. New courses will play an important role in this. This will increase the opportunity. Also, the vision of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will help the government in providing better and world-class healthcare services to the people of Delhi. The Deputy Chief Minister has also approved the new course as well as upgrading Panna Dai School of Nursing to B.Sc.
Number of seats
- One Year Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing – 20 seats.
- B.Sc Nursing Program – 40 seats.
- Master of Physiotherapy (Sports) – 5 seats.
- B.Sc (Medical Technology, Radiotherapy) – 4 seats.
- B.Sc in Medical Laboratories – 34 seats.
