The entire project to install violation detection cameras based on Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is estimated to cost Rs 20 crore. And the Transport Department of Delhi Government has issued a tender for the purchase of such cameras and supporting technology.
To improve road safety on the roads, the department has taken the initiative to implement Integrated Traffic Enforcement Management System (ITMS) across Delhi. It will help in reducing the number of accidents and related casualties through advanced AI-based video analytics technology-based solution, an official said.
He said, “ITMS aims to reduce the number of drivers who violate traffic rules, punish offenders, and conduct road safety awareness campaigns at intersections, making Delhi’s roads safer for both pedestrians and motorists. can be made safe.”
