In the Asha Kiran Shelter Home case, the Delhi High Court has noted the shortage of medical and non-medical staff. The court recorded the assurance of the Social Welfare Secretary that he will personally monitor the situation. The next hearing is scheduled for Monday.
Directed the secretary to file a fresh status report by Monday and urged them not to feel helpless, stressing the need to effectively address the crisis. The court also suggested approaching the Lieutenant Governor for additional funds and recommended hiring contractual employees to overcome the shortage of staff. 14 people had died in Asha Kiran Shelter Home in Rohini area of Delhi.
