Smart Vision Glasses: A private hospital in Delhi has given a unique boon to blind people. The hospital launched one such ‘smart vision sunglasses’, which is based on artificial intelligence and machine learning technology. With the help of this glass, blind people not only helps in walking and recognizing faces, but also helps in reading and understanding. Vision glasses are very light and have a camera as well as a sensor in them. Furthermore, these sunglasses come with AI/ML technology. This is the reason why it can prove to be an effective option for blind people.

Vision glasses project the image. It helps users to walk and is also effective in facial recognition. There is also a smart earpiece with this glass, which helps the person to read or understand something. These ‘smart vision sunglasses’ also feature voice assistance and GPS navigation, which are essential for the visually impaired to navigate and avoid obstacles.

These glasses will make many things easier

This device for the blind was launched by Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital in collaboration with Vision Aid India and Bengaluru based startup SHG Technologies. This device is helpful in changing the outlook of blind people to live life. Smart vision glasses are no less than a boon for the blind. Because it can make their work easier.

More than 15 million blind people in India

Smart vision glasses have been launched at a time when the number of blind patients in India is increasing rapidly. According to the World Health Organisation, there are currently around 15 million blind people in India. While 13.5 crore people are partially blind due to one reason or the other.
