Mumbai comes after Delhi among the 19 metropolitan cities of the country. The NCRB report mentions 48,755 reported cases in 19 metropolitan cities. In this, Delhi has the highest number of 14,158 cases. Apart from this, 6,176 cases were registered in Mumbai. At the third place is Bengaluru with 3924.
Uttar Pradesh leads among the states
According to NCRB data, Uttar Pradesh is the worst in crimes against women. The state with the highest number of cases is 65,743. After this, Maharashtra is in third place with 45,331 cases and Rajasthan is in third place with 45,058 cases. Let us tell you that in the report, 31,516 rape cases have been registered in 2022. Maximum 5,399 cases were registered in Rajasthan. After this, Uttar Pradesh is at 3,690 and Madhya Pradesh is at 3,029. ‘Murder with rape/gang rape&rsquo in Uttar Pradesh; 62 cases placed in the category of crime have been registered.
Crimes against women have increased
According to the report, crimes against women have increased in 36 states and union territories of the country. There has been a four percent increase in crimes against women in the states. But in 19 metros including Delhi this increase has reached 12.3 percent. According to the information, 4,28,278 cases of crime against women were reported across the country in 2021, which increased to 4,45,256 in 2022.
