ED Notice To Arvind Kejriwal: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has received a shock from the Rouse Avenue Sessions Court. Sessions Judge Rakesh Sayal has refused to stay the summons issued by the ACMM court on the complaint of ED. After this, now CM Arvind Kejriwal will have to appear in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Divya Malhotra on March 16.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had filed an appeal in the Sessions Court seeking exemption from personal appearance. A long hearing on his petition took place on Thursday (14 March) and Friday (15 March). Special Judge Rakesh Sayal has said that the stay on the proceedings is dismissed, but if he wants exemption from appearance then he can appeal in the trial court.

This argument was given by Kejriwal

Advocate Rajiv Mohan and senior advocate Ramesh Gupta presented arguments on behalf of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday. Starting the debate, Ramesh Gupta said that the Chief Minister is a public servant. In response, the Additional Solicitor General said that he has been summoned in his personal capacity. It is clear from the records that the case was registered when he was the CM. After this, Kejriwal’s lawyer Ramesh Gupta said that we had come two days ago because we knew that a second complaint would also be filed, we were waiting for the second complaint.

Summons has been issued against Kejriwal

On March 7, the court had sent summons to Kejriwal. ED has so far issued 8 summons to Delhi CM. However, Kejriwal has not appeared before the agency even once.
