BJP has made a big change in the matter of candidates for Lok Sabha seats. Many big faces have been accommodated in Delhi, while new faces like Bansuri Swaraj and business leader Khandelwal have been fielded. Lok Sabha tickets of Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi and former Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan have been cut. BJP has fielded Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansuri Swaraj from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat.
Leader of Opposition Ramveer Singh Bidhuri has been fielded from the South Delhi Lok Sabha seat, while the ticket of Ramesh Bidhuri, who was in the news due to his controversial speech, has been cancelled. Manoj Tiwari has been retained on the North Eastern seat.
According to BJP sources, BJP’s central leadership had called Pravesh Verma, MP from West Delhi Lok Sabha seat, and informed him that he is not being given a ticket this time. Similarly, Ramesh Bidhuri was also informed that this time the party will bet on new faces. Only after this the fate of Kamaljit Sehrawat and Ramveer Singh Bidhuri opened.
Gautam Gambhir has announced not to contest elections from East Delhi Lok Sabha seat. It is believed that a Bollywood actor can be fielded from here.
