Purushottam Verma
New Delhi. The fraudster, who changed the name and address of the unclaimed policy by changing the name and address in the Aadhaar card without proof and documents, has made a sensational disclosure in the inquiry. The accused had also made fake Aadhaar cards of three foreigners and had usurped their insurance amount. These foreign nationals are from China and neighboring countries. On the other hand, in the 22 people whose names and addresses were changed in Aadhaar, the accused had given the addresses of only two houses in Shakarpur. Delhi Police and security agencies have taken serious note of tampering with documents like Aadhaar card and have written to UIDAI seeking detailed information.
A team of ACP Sunil Panchal, Inspector Arun Kumar Tyagi and Inspector Devendra Dahiya under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Gautam of IFSO Unit of Special Cell arrested the fraudsters Prem Prakash, Chandan Jain, Sujit Kumar Mishra, Greater Noida West residents Rohit Kumar Aggarwal and Vikas. was arrested. Rohit Kumar and Sujit Kumar were employees of Max Life Insurance. By changing the name and address in the Aadhaar card, he cheated 22 people of 37 insurances amounting to Rs 2.38 crore. Vikas used to work at the Aadhaar Center located in SBI in Gujranwala Town and used to change the name and address in the Aadhaar card by taking money. They used to change the name and address of the insurance holder in the Aadhaar card. When they used to grab the insurance amount, again they used to change the name and address of the original card holder in the Aadhaar card.
Deputy Commissioner Prashant Gautam told that three foreigners had got their insurance done in India. These people took the Aadhaar cards of the slum dwellers located in Rana Pratap Bagh and got the names and addresses of these foreign nationals written. After this, with this Aadhaar card, he opened a bank account in the name of a foreigner. When the passbooks and checks were received from the bank, they embezzled the insurance amount of these foreign nationals.
Only two addresses given in Aadhaar card
The surprising thing is that out of the 22 people for whom the accused had got their Aadhaar cards made, they had given the numbers of only two houses. Shakarpur has house numbers S-407 and S-560. Premprakash had taken these houses on rent to use the address.
Police wrote a letter to UIDAI
Security agencies have become strict regarding the matter of tampering with Aadhaar card without any proof and documents. Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Gautam says that this is a serious issue. Delhi Police has written a letter to UIDAI seeking information on how many times the Aadhaar cards have been updated, what were the addresses initially, when they were updated, what documents were submitted for updating, etc. Delhi Police alleges that UIDAI is not giving information on time.
