New Delhi. There was a political ruckus on Wednesday over the beautification of the Chief Minister’s residence. Coming on the road, the Delhi Pradesh BJP opened a front against the Chief Minister. BJP workers protesting near the Chief Minister’s residence with placards raised slogans and demanded the Chief Minister’s resignation. The BJP said that the Chief Minister spent Rs 45 crore on beautification during the Kovid period. Such an insensitive Chief Minister has no right to continue in office. BJP leaders were taken into custody as the protest turned violent. When the matter calmed down, the police released all the protesters. On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party termed the entire issue as a conspiracy and alleged that the BJP was trying to divert attention from the serious and big issues of the country, including Pulwama and Adani. When the house built before independence became dilapidated, repairs were done according to the need.
Earlier, State BJP General Secretary Kuljit Singh Chahal, who came to protest at the Chief Minister’s residence, said that the expenditure of 45 crores on the renovation of the Chief Minister’s residence in the era of Kovid shows how insensitive they are. Public money was spent when people were dying due to lack of oxygen, medicines and hospital beds. Chahal said that the figure of Rs 45 crore is also not realistic, but Rs 100 crore has been spent. Rs 11 crore has been spent on the construction of the swimming pool itself.
Former Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said that he had never seen any chief minister wasting public money to convert his government bungalow into a palace. The people of Delhi will never forgive Kejriwal for his insensitivity. During the demonstration, District President Manoj Tyagi, Vinod Bacheti, Kuldeep Singh and Lata Gupta broke the police cordon outside the Chief Minister’s residence, after which the police took them to Burari and Civil Lines police station. was later abandoned.
