Delhi: No Waterlogging On The Roads Of Delhi During The G-20 Conference

Rohtak Road and MB Road (Bridge Prahladpur Underpass) are the most waterlogged in the capital. In four years, 16-16 places were flooded here. Apart from this, in the year 2022, water was accumulated at a total of 207 places in Delhi.

This has been revealed in the survey of Delhi Traffic Police. In such a situation, the Delhi Police has approached the local bodies to prevent waterlogging during the G-20 conference. On the basis of the survey, letters have been written to all the agencies. The traffic police has informed the Home Ministry about this.

Senior officer of Delhi Traffic Police told that when the G-20 conference will be held in September, it will be monsoon season. In such a situation, there will be a possibility of water accumulation on the roads. For this reason, the traffic police has got the survey done. From this it is ascertaining where there is water logging on the roads of Delhi.

According to the survey, the places of waterlogging are increasing every year. In the year 2022, 132 complaints were received on the traffic police helpline and social media. In the year 2021, there were water-logging at 211 places and 297 complaints, in the year 2020, water-logging at 145 places and 175 complaints and in the year 2019, water-logging at 82 places and 112 complaints.

It was also found from the survey that maximum congestion occurs on Rohtak Road and MB Road, while both these are major routes. At Rajdhani Park Metro Station (both carriageways) on Rohtak Road, there was waterlogging at two places in the year 2019, two in the year 2020, eight in the year 2021 and four in the year 2022. In this way, there was waterlogging at one place in the year 2019, 6 in the year 2020, 7 in the year 2021 and two in the year 2022 in the bridge Prahladpur underpass on MB Road.
