Apart from this, Delhi Police will now confiscate the property of miscreants like UP Police. For this, the Delhi Police has started formulating a strategy.

Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora recently called a meeting of senior police officers at the headquarters. In this, all the Joint Commissioners of Police of the range were called. In the meeting, the Commissioner of Police unitedly ordered the imposition of MCOCA against the miscreants who were committing crimes in Delhi. Also, asked the Joint Commissioners of Police of the range to prepare a proposal to impose MCOCA. The District Police Commissioner will prepare the proposal in coordination with the police officers of the crime branch.

After that it will be considered final. The permission of the crime branch officer is necessary on the proposal. However, MCOCA is invoked against miscreants in Delhi earlier as well. Officials say that till now MCOCA was imposed only against the gangster and his gang members. Now MCOCA will be imposed against all miscreants who commit organized crime.

Strict orders have been given to all the 15 District Deputy Commissioners of Police to collect information about miscreants for imposing MCOCA. A senior police officer involved in the police commissioner’s meeting said that in order to curb crime in Delhi, it has been agreed to confiscate the property of miscreants like the UP police. Delhi Police is making a strategy that how to trace the property of the miscreants, so that it can be confiscated.

Police will take the help of RWAs and local people to collect details of the property of the miscreants. The Commissioner of Police thus constituted a team of senior officers to chalk out a strategy. The maximum punishment under MCOCA is death sentence, while the minimum punishment is five years imprisonment.

MCOCA was created by Maharashtra government in 1999. Its main objective was to eliminate organized and underworld crime. In 2002, the Delhi government also implemented it. At present, this law is applicable in Maharashtra and Delhi.
