The Delhi government has directly termed the central government’s ordinance as contempt of the Supreme Court’s order. According to the Delhi government, the Supreme Court in its order had clearly said that the elected government is supreme. The elected government has all the powers. This ordinance has been brought against the orders of the Supreme Court and to reduce the power of the Kejriwal government.

In a late night statement issued by the Delhi government, it has been said that the Supreme Court had agreed that if the public has voted for Kejriwal, then Kejriwal should have the right to take all decisions. But the central government is saying through this ordinance that the person elected by the people of Delhi should not have the right to take decisions in favor of the people of Delhi. Along with contempt of the Supreme Court order, it is also an insult to the mandate of the people of Delhi.

On the other hand, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and cabinet minister Atishi said that this ordinance has proved that the BJP and the central government are only afraid of Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP is afraid that if all the power comes to Kejriwal, then it is impossible to stop the Kejriwal model from spreading across the country.

Significantly, the central government has issued an ordinance on Friday on the rights of the Delhi government. The Center issued the ordinance following the Supreme Court’s decision. According to the ordinance, the transfer-posting of officers in Delhi will not only be the authority of the Chief Minister, but the final decision will be of the Lieutenant Governor.

LG will have the final decision on transfer and posting.

According to the ordinance, an authority has been created for transfer and posting of officers in the capital. It will have Chief Minister Kejriwal, Chief Secretary of Delhi and Principal Home Secretary. If there is any dispute in the transfer and posting of officers, then the final decision will be accepted by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

Kejriwal had already expressed apprehension about the ordinance

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had already expressed apprehensions in the evening about the ordinance brought by the Centre. He tweeted and wrote, Why is LG Sahib not obeying the orders of the Supreme Court? Why hasn’t the file of the Services Secretary been signed for two days? It is being said that the Center is going to reverse the order of the Supreme Court by bringing an ordinance next week? Is the central government plotting to overturn the order of the Supreme Court? Is LG Sahib waiting for the ordinance, that’s why not signing the file?
