Delhi Parking Rate: Preparations are underway to increase the number of parking spots in Delhi. In the current financial year, the MCD has decided to increase 65 parking spaces, apart from this, preparations are also on to authorize 44 spaces. It is expected that this will get rid of parking of vehicles on the roads, because at present, most of the people in Delhi have the problem of parking their vehicles in a safe place.

For information, let us tell you that at present there are 385 authorized parking lots of the corporation in Delhi. Of these, 305 parking lots are being used, yet most of the vehicles are parked on the roads in an unauthorized manner. There are many large areas where there is no official parking space. Here the situation gets worse.

Due to the vehicles standing on the roads in the markets, societies, the speed of the vehicles on the concerned route stops. People’s condition worsens due to jam in colonies and markets near them. Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi has held discussions with corporation officials to increase the number of parking spaces and to start the process of re-contracting those parking spaces whose contracts have expired. The Mayor has acknowledged that there is an urgent need to increase the number of parking spaces in Delhi. For this, he has given instructions to the officers. At the same time, preparations are on to award contracts afresh.
