When the extortion money was not paid, the accused fired twice at the victim businessman. Both the miscreants were hit by a bullet each in their legs. Two policemen including an inspector narrowly escaped the bullets of the miscreants.

Recently, Special Police Commissioner Shalini Singh, who commanded the Crime Branch, had given strict orders to stop firing and smuggling of illegal weapons. Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Goyal, the team formed by Inspector Pankaj Malik, Inspector Rohit Kumar, SI Rupesh Baliyan, Havildar Gajendra Singh and constable Dinesh Kumar started keeping an eye on the miscreants. A bullet hit Havildar Gajendra Singh in the chest, but he survived because he was wearing a bullet proof jacket. Inspector Rohit Kumar narrowly escaped being hit by another bullet. Police have recovered 2 modern pistols, 9 cartridges and 2 shells from their possession.
