The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a state level boxer from Delhi who had shot and killed his uncle in Nagla Paar village of Panipat. The arrested accused has been identified as Rajan Phod alias Mantri (30), resident of Nagla Paar village, Sanauli, Panipat, Haryana. The police have recovered a pistol, a revolver, three cartridges and a Scorpio car from the accused. The accused is close to Vikas Lagarpuria. While helping him escape from the country, Rajan alias Mantri had got his passport prepared on the basis of fake documents. Apart from this, he has also got passports made for many other gangsters.
He was the Haryana champion during school days. He had left boxing due to illness. Currently, he was in the finance business. He also had a partnership in a liquor shop. A total of four cases including attempt to murder and kidnapping are already registered against him. The police is investigating the matter by interrogating him. Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Satish Kumar said that the team of ACP Vivek Tyagi, Inspector Pankaj Thakran and others had received information that the criminal involved in the attempt to murder in Sanauli, Panipat was going to come to Rohini area of Delhi with illegal weapons. After receiving the news, a team was immediately formed.
Meanwhile, the team stopped a youth travelling in a Scorpio at Japanese Park, Rohini for investigation. On the tip of the informer, his car was searched and a pistol and two cartridges were found. A pistol and cartridges were also recovered from under the driver’s seat. The accused accepted that he had attacked his uncle. Rajan told that he was having a property dispute with his uncle Azad in the village. A few days back, Azad had misbehaved with Rajan’s mother. When Rajan came to know about the abuse, he fired bullets at his uncle’s car on the way to the village on June 23 to teach him a lesson.
One bullet hit Chacha’s waist, but he managed to escape from there with the car. Chacha was treated. After this, a case was registered against Rajan. Police officials said that Rajan is close to many gangsters. He makes arrangements for their hiding. Apart from this, he also gets passports made on their fake names and addresses.
