There has been a decrease in the number of unsold houses across the country in the January-March quarter. However, in areas like Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida, the number of unsold homes has also come down faster than in Delhi.

The number of unsold flats in Delhi stood at 793 in the December quarter. It stood at 790 in the March quarter. As per the data, 1,110 houses were unsold in Faridabad in the December quarter. It declined by 17 per cent to 920 in the March quarter. A decrease of seven per cent has been recorded in Noida.

The total number of unsold flats here has come down from 7,371 to 6,843 during the same period. Similarly, in Ghaziabad, the number of unsold flats declined by 8 per cent to 11,542 from 12,614 in the December quarter. In Greater Noida, there has been a decrease of 5 percent and it has come down to 23,865 instead of 25,241 in the March quarter.

Kolkata has recorded a reduction of 11 per cent while Navi Mumbai has seen a reduction of 9 per cent and Mumbai has seen a reduction of 8 per cent. The number of unsold flats in Mumbai stood at 62,735 as against 68,310 in the December quarter. The number of unsold flats in the Thane region declined by 4 per cent to 1,09,511 from 1,13,700. It has decreased by 8 percent in Bangalore while a decrease of two percent has been registered in Hyderabad.

  • The number of unsold houses in 14 major cities of the country has come down by 6 per cent to 5.18 lakh. It was 5.48 lakh in the December quarter
  • 1.24 lakh houses were sold in January-March while 93,600 new ones were launched

Number of unsold flats increased in Chennai and Gurugram

  • The number of unsold flats in Chennai and Gurugram increased in the March quarter as compared to the December quarter.
  • In Gurugram it has increased from 11,051 to 12,903. In Chennai it has increased by 6 percent from 23,004 to 24,362.
