In view of the huge jam on Delhi-Jaipur Highway on Tuesday, senior officers of Delhi Traffic Police did road engineering throughout the night. Under this, many cuts were closed by increasing the width of slip road and diversion and encroachments were removed. As a result of this, there was light traffic jam at some places on the highway throughout the day on Wednesday. Due to this, the drivers took 15 to 20 minutes extra time as compared to normal days.

According to the Delhi Traffic Police, a trial run was conducted on Tuesday to close the highway. During this, the drivers had to face heavy jam. The Delhi-Gurugram carriageway was blocked for eight km from Rajokri to GGR flyover. The highway will remain closed for 90 days for construction work. Construction work cannot be stopped. Also, the problems of the people had to be looked into.

In view of this, under the supervision of Special Commissioner of Police Surendra Singh Yadav, all the senior police officers of the traffic police along with the engineers reached the spot at 10 pm on Tuesday night. After this, the police made some changes on the highway till 3 o’clock in the night. Due to this, the traffic on the highway remained normal on Wednesday. Jams were witnessed at some places only during the peak hours of morning and evening.
