Delhi University will not organize separate entrance examination for PhD admission


After the cancellation of UGC NET exam conducted by National Testing Agency, there were reports that many big institutes will conduct their own entrance exam for admission in PhD. JNU’s name was also coming up in this. But amidst all this, Delhi University has said that the university will not do this. The university will not conduct any separate exam for PhD admissions.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh says that there will be no separate entrance exam for admission in DU PhD program. UGC’s suggestions are awaited. No information has been received from NTA yet. There may be a month’s delay in the start of DU PhD academic session 2024-25.

JNU may bring back the JNUEE exam pattern for PhD admission, after which students were confused whether DU is also doing the same. But the Vice Chancellor of DU has cleared this doubt. The institute will not conduct any kind of exam. Let us tell you that there has been a ruckus in the country in the field of education in the last few days.

Leaked on the dark web

At present, the case of NEET UG exam conducted by the National Testing Agency is going on in the Supreme Court. On the other hand, the agency had canceled the UGC NET exam due to paper leak on the dark web. This time more than 13 lakh candidates had registered for the exam. But now these candidates will have to appear in the exam again. The UGC NET June 2024 cycle exam will be conducted from 21 August to 4 September.

Delay in CUET UG Result

On the other hand, due to the delay in the results of CUET UG exam, other institutions including DU may have to face challenges like admission of undergraduate students and starting of session.
