Yulu bikes brought to improve the environment are becoming a problem for traffic and people in New Delhi. Yulu Bikes have raised questions about the safety of pedestrians and other road users in the New Delhi area. It is seen that Yulu bike suddenly stops the high speed traffic at congested places. At the same time, due to their low height, they are becoming the cause of road accidents.
In such a situation, where the Delhi Traffic Police has started confiscating these Yulu bikes, this issue has been raised in front of the DMRC. The police have seized 134 Yulu bikes so far. DMRC launched Yulu bike service under dockless bike sharing service. These bikes can be used by people coming to the metro station. But in the study of Delhi Traffic Police, it has come to light that in places like Connaught Place, India Gate, Rajpath, Khan Market, school children including minors ride these Yulu bikes without helmets.
Bike users go to other places instead of reaching the metro. Its speed is 25 km per hour. In such a situation, they suddenly reach the congested roads and slow down or stop the traffic. This creates jam-like situations. The traffic police asked the DMRC to ensure that the Yulu bike runs in a disciplined and safe manner. Those who give instructions to the drivers should be deployed.

Police investigation has also revealed that after using Yulu bikes, they are left on footpaths, roundabouts, near buildings and on dividers and other places. Where there is jam because of this. On this under Delhi Police Act 66, so far 52 from Sansad Marg, 25 from Barakhamba, 20 from Safdarjung Enclave, 11 from Chanakyapuri, 10 from Tilak Marg, 5 from Tilak Marg area, 5 from Delhi Cantt, 5 from Vasant Kunj and Vasant A Yulu bike has been seized from Kunj area. These bikes are released only after the permission of the sub-division ACP.
Big vehicle drivers do not see
Yulu bike has a low height. In such a situation, the drivers of big vehicles are not able to see them. There is a possibility of a road accident due to sudden exposure. Youth and children do double and tripling riding on these Yulu bikes. At the same time, many Yulu bike drivers have started running on the footpath. This poses a risk to pedestrians. Reflectors are also not fitted on these bikes. In addition, there is no Yulu employee on the dock or at the bike stand to explain the rules of the ride to Yulu bike users.
