cash payment stopped
Apart from this, information has also been given from AIIMS that cash will be accepted only at AIIMS smart card top up counters. This facility will be operational 24 hours a day, seven days at many places inside OPD, hospital and centres. That means, apart from debit, credit card and UPI, the patient or his attendant will also be able to make payment through this smart card top up.
Decision taken after cases of bill tampering
Let us tell you that there is a big reason behind the order issued by AIIMS Director Professor M Srinivas. In fact, this decision has been taken after complaints of tampering in the final discharge bills of the outsourced service provider and allegations of overcharging came to light. It has also been told that when this happened, many patients had to go through financial loss as well as mental pain. It has been said in the order that now 100% digital payment system will be used so that the bill cannot be tampered with in any way. No patient in Delhi should be cheated and the accounts of the institute should also be end-to-end auditable.
