On the night of December 31, a girl was going on a scooty with her friend in Sultanpuri area of outer Delhi. Meanwhile, a car hit the scooty. Both were injured in this. Five people were sitting in the car and all five were intoxicated. The accused increased the speed of the car without stopping. The foot of a girl riding a scooty got stuck in the axle of the car. He was dragged along with the car for 13 kms. All his clothes were torn. The girl died on the spot. After this, when the five accused stopped the car near Jonti village on Kanjhawala road, they saw the girl trapped in the car. The accused took out the girl from under the car and threw her under the open sky there and went away. There was not a single cloth on the girl’s body. At the same time, the other girl went to her home from the scene itself. Based on the CCTV footage, the police have nabbed the car driver and all the accused sitting inside.
Chief Minister sentenced to death
CM Kejriwal described the Kanjhawala case as a very shameful incident. He said, ‘Where is our society heading? Some boys dragged a girl for many kilometers, it is very painful. No matter how influential the accused are, they should get the harshest punishment.
In which sections did the police register the case?
Delhi Police held a press conference after arresting the five accused. It said that a case has been registered against the accused under sections 279, 304, 304A, 120B. Police has said that if some more facts come to the fore after the preliminary investigation, sections will be added to the FIR accordingly.
