Material:
- Gram flour -3-4 tablespoons
- Curd β 1 cup
- Water -3-4 cups (according to the texture of Kadhi)
- Asafoetida β 1/4 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder β 1/2 teaspoon
- chilli powder β 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt β By taste
- Oil -2-3 tablespoons
- Ginger (grated) β 1 tbsp
- Green chili (chopped) -1-2
- Rough leaves -8-10 leaves
- Fresh coriander (chopped) β To decorate
- Cumin β 1 tbsp
- Mustard grains β 1/2 teaspoon
- Thick whole coriander β 1/2 teaspoon (if you like)
Method of making Kadhi:
Besan solution:
Add 3-4 teaspoons of gram flour in a vessel and mix some water in it and prepare a thick solution. Mix this solution well without making kernels.
Then add curd and mix well. Keep in mind that whisk beats well so that kernels do not form in the curry.
Preparation of temper:
Heat oil in a pan.
Add cumin and mustard seeds to it. When it starts to crack well, add asafoetida, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves. Fry it well for 1-2 minutes.
Pour spices in Kadhi:
Now add turmeric, red chili powder and salt and mix well.
After that add gram flour and curd mixture and mix 3-4 cups of water and mix well. Let this mixture boil well.
Cook:
Let the curry cook well on low flame, and keep stirring in between, so that the gram flour does not stick to the bottom.
Kadhi will become thick in 15-20 minutes. You can increase or reduce the throat of Kadhi as per your choice.
Decorating:
When the curry is ready, serve it with hot rice and decorate it by adding fresh coriander over it.
