In today’s time, depression has become such a problem that about 5.7 crore people in India are suffering from it. Not only this, many people lose their lives due to this disease, and even commit suicide. A problem like depression is not visible, but it slowly hollows out the human body.
By the time people come to know about depression and anxiety, it is too late. For its treatment, after contacting a psychologist, therapy and anti-depressant medicines are given, which help in coming out of depression.
Recently, a research has revealed that depression can be reduced to a great extent by having a better diet plan and exercising.
Research conducted by the Food and Mood Centre of Australia’s Deakin University claims that changing lifestyle can be helpful in fighting depression. In fact, 182 people were selected in this research who were suffering from depression. These participants took a balanced diet and did workouts for 8 weeks following the guidelines given by a dietitian and exercise psychologist, which showed positive results in them and helped in reducing depression.
According to experts, the results of this research have found that in the initial stage, the mental condition of the participants showed improvement. The participants who focused on their diet and exercise saw a 42% decline, while the patients who were given mental therapy saw a 37% decline in their scores. In such a situation, experts believe that taking a healthy diet is very important to reduce depression, along with this meditation workout is also necessary.
