In Dhanbad, Bihar, on Friday, January 19, a meeting of the ‘Divisional Parliamentary Committee’ was organized in the conference room of the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Dhanbad. Honorable MPs from Dhanbad divisional jurisdiction participated in this meeting. The meeting was presided over by Honorable MP from Dhanbad, Pashupati Nath Singh. All the honorable MPs put forward their respective suggestions for issues related to public interest and all-round development of Railways. On this occasion, General Manager of East Central Railway, Anil Kumar Khandelwal, Divisional Railway Manager of Dhanbad Division, Kamal Kishore Sinha and officials of Headquarters and Division were present.
In the meeting, the honorable MPs gave valuable suggestions regarding further increase and strengthening of rail development and passenger facilities. Honorable MPs laid emphasis on completing the works related to infrastructure development on priority. Future work plans were also discussed in the meeting.
Before this, at the beginning of the meeting, General Manager Anil Kumar Khandelwal welcomed the Honorable MPs and representatives of the Honorable MPs. In his welcome address, he said that in the current financial year, Dhanbad division has achieved the distinction of securing first position among all the divisions of Indian Railways in terms of freight loading and income derived from it. He said that Dhanbad Division has recently completed many important works in the direction of passenger convenience, in which FOB has been provided at six stations, platform shed at four stations and disabled toilet facilities have been provided at 11 stations. Operation of Vande Bharat train with world class modern facilities has been started between Ranchi and Patna.
Also, operation of Dhanbad-Chandrapura passenger train and intercity train from New Giridih to Ranchi was started. With the aim of making unreserved tickets easily available to daily railway passengers, automatic ticket vending machines have been installed at four major stations. Under the ‘One Station One Product’ scheme, stalls have been provided at 11 major stations and trolleys at 15 stations of Dhanbad division. On one hand these areas will be developed. On the other hand, people will also get employment.
Expressing his gratitude for the valuable suggestions received from the Honorable MPs, the General Manager said that these suggestions will prove to be very helpful to us in deciding the outline of railway development works in future. In today’s meeting, Honorable MP of Chatra Sunil Kumar Singh, Honorable MP of Palamu Vishnu Dayal Ram and Honorable MP of Giridih Chandra Prakash Chaudhary were present.
