History of Zamzam well is 5 thousand years old
Chairman of Masjid-e-Mohammed Bin Abdullah Committee, Haji Arafat Sheikh said that this brick will be brought to Ayodhya. The reason behind washing bricks with Zamzam water is the belief of Muslims regarding this sacred water. The water of this well located in Mecca has great importance in Islam. The history of this well is said to be about 5 thousand years old. Muslim society considers the water of Zamzam as a miracle, because the water of Zamzam remains free from insects for years.

According to Islamic beliefs, the well of Zamzam emerged from under the feet of Mohammad Ismail 5 thousand years ago. It is said that when his mother Hajra (Ibrahim’s second wife) ran seven times between the two hills of Safa and Marwah to quench her son’s thirst, a well of Zamzam emerged from under the feet of Mohammad Ismail.

This is how Zamzam well got its name.
It is said that Hajra had shouted ‘Jomjom’ loudly to stop the water from flowing from the spring, due to which this well was named Zamjam. It is said that the water of this well is different from ordinary water. There are no insects in the water of Zamzam for years and a large amount of minerals are found in this water. Its taste is also different. For this reason, people going on Haj from all over the world bring Zamzam water and keep it in their homes for years.

The well of Zamzam has also been maintained for centuries. It is said that except for some time, this well never stopped giving water. This well was protected by Abd al-Muttalib bin Hashim, the grandfather of Prophet Mohammed.
