There was blessings of Goddess Lakshmi in the markets on Dhanteras. The turnover is estimated to be around Rs 1700 crore. More than 16 thousand four and two wheelers, including more than 15 BMWs, were sold in the vehicle market that ran on top gear. There were five thousand cars and 11 thousand two wheelers in it. This time people liked the bikes a lot, due to which their sales were equal to that of Scooty. At the same time, jewelery showrooms remained buzzing from morning till late night. There was a crowd at the shops selling sweets and gift items.
Only customers were visible in the markets on Tuesday. People made huge purchases of gold and silver, jewellery, cars, bikes, scooties, smart TVs, washing machines, utensils and furniture. The highest number of SUVs were booked, this included cars up to Rs 25 lakh. BMW cars in the range of Rs 70-80 lakh were also purchased. There was a lot of excitement in the utensils markets also. Showrooms and shops of Birhana Road, Nayaganj, Chowk Sarafa markets were buzzing with customers. Apart from Sisamau- Peer Road, Lalbangla, Gumti number five, Govindnagar, Swaroopnagar, Aryanagar, Kalyanpur, Kidwainagar, Barra, all the major wholesale and retail markets were seen filled with customers.
Estimated sale of vehicles worth eight hundred crores
There was a bumper sale of vehicles on Dhanteras. A business of Rs 500-600 crore has been achieved in the car segment alone. Apart from stylish and power bikes, bikes in 100-125 cc segment were sold more. People remained present in the showrooms till late night. The total turnover was estimated at Rs 800 crore.
