According to a Hindustan Times report, Abhay Deol said, ‘I do not accept the western way of identifying physical relationships. The eastern view is very different on this. I cannot explain this thing of mine in detail. It may seem controversial but for me this is something that I do not want to be defined by anyone.’ Abhay Deol further said that he has had many experiences in his life.
He said, ‘I think it should be according to the convenience of the other person. I have experienced everything in my life but I cannot share it with anyone. I would like to continue doing this in the future as well. I don’t know how people will take it but I don’t even want to label it.’

In response to this question, Abhay said, ‘I do not think that manliness means making your partner happy in a physical relationship, rather manliness means that the person living with you should feel safe. A man should always remain a protector and helper and this is a part of my manliness.’
